| Dakota Johnson Stars in ISIS Saturday Night Live <b>...</b> - Celebrity <b>Gossip</b> Posted: 01 Mar 2015 09:59 AM PST Dakota Johnson has found a way to distract critics from the controversy surrounding Fifty Shades of Grey. By getting herself involved in an even more serious controversy! The actress hosted Saturday Night Live last night, welcoming her parents on stage during her monologue and mocking the sex-based movie for which she's now best known. But it was another skit altogether that generated tons of buzz on social media. For all the wrong reasons.  Dakota Johnson ISIS Commercial In a pre-taped sketch that makes fun of an ongoing Toyota commercial, Johnson portrays a young woman who bids farewell to her sad father. Except... instead of joining the army (as the daughter does in the aforementioned car ad), Johnson waves goodbye and joins terrorist group ISIS. Over the past several weeks, of course, there has been a surge in the number of female jihadis from Western countries, including the United States, who have traveled to the Middle East to actually do this in real life. ISIS has murdered an untold number of innocent people. As a result, the show and the star got blasted on social media after this parody ad aired. "Dear #SNL, jokes about Isis are not funny. See how much you laugh when you have to see your loved one(s) being slaughtered. No respect," wrote one Twitter user, while another added: "I think it's safe to say I will never watch SNL or any of Dakota Johnson's movies ever again." Taran Killam, however, who stars in the fake commercial as Johnson's father, defended the skit, writing today online: "Proud of this. Freedom to mock is our greatest weapon. A Legitimate 'Gossip Girl' Reunion?Of course, this photo "reunited" some of the Gossip Girl cast, but could an actual GG reunion be in the works? Sadly, I wouldn't count on it. In an interview earlier this year, fellow star of the series Leighton Meester aka the other Queen B, was asked about the prospects of a reunion. "Nope," Leighton said, shutting down the thought completely (as well as our hopes and dreams). Even worse, Leighton's onscreen love interest Ed Westwick echoed Leighton's thoughts in an EXCLUSIVE interview with HollywoodLife.com. Via a selfie shared Saturday night with followers, the former sex tape participant stares into the camera (seemingly shirtless), while doing what her fellow entertainer does best: Sticking her tongue out.  "UGH just got off a plane, so tired," Kim Tweeted along with the self-portrait. "Have a shoot tonight, need a tan, not in the mood!" Can someone please cue up some violins? We feel oh so awful that a pale Kim Kardashian must get herself in the mood to pose for a photoshoot. At least we can be comforted by the fact that she's about to rake in MILLIONS more for another bunch of Keeping Up with the Kardashians seasons. Kim also knows where her financial bread is buttered. First, llamas got loose in Arizona and the subsequent video of people trying to run these animals down caused a meme-based sensation. Second, Tumblr user "Swiked" uploaded the following image of the following dress and wrote as a caption: "Is this dress white and gold or blue and black? Me and my friends can't agree and we are freaking the f-ck out."  And for the rest of the evening, nearly everyone on social media proceeded to freak the f-ck out right along with him. Why did wives and husbands spend half their night arguing over the color of this dress? How can folks disagree over such a seemingly basic question? According to Cedar Riener, associate professor of psychology at Randolph-Macon College, it's likely due to how one's brain interprets the light coming into one's eyes. "We are always making decisions about the quantity of light that comes into our retina," Riener tells Buzzfeed, explaining: "In the case of the dress, some people are deciding that there is a fair amount of illumination on a blue and black (or less reflective) dress. Other people are deciding that it is less illumination on a white/gold dress (it is in shadow, but more reflective)." Each individual brings a different set of experiences and expectations to his or her sight, as well as attention levels and particular eye movements. Talk to a cognitive neuroscientist and he or she will say that what you looked at prior to glimpsing the dress could play a role in what color you believe it is. Weird, right? But enough science. Let's settle this once and for all... WHAT COLOR IS THIS DRESS? Stars such as Taylor Swift have even got in on this debate. "I don't understand this odd dress debate and I feel like it's a trick somehow," she Tweeted on Thursday. "I'm confused and scared. PS it's OBVIOUSLY BLUE AND BLACK." For the record: Mindy Kaling thinks it's also blue and black, while B.J. Novak and Julianne Moore are on Team White and Gold. Try not to file for divorce or disown your children are you enter into the fray. (THG NOTE: It's clearly white and gold. Come on!) In 2011, American Apparel drew criticism for its "Teenagers Do It Better" shirt for its suggestive slogan. Get ready for more American Apparel to come. Yup, it's Urban Outfitters again. The company stopped selling this "Eat Less" shirt in January 2014 after a lot of uproar and outrage. Way to mock eating disorders, Urban! Yoga pants during yoga? Obviously appropriate? Leggings under a long sweater or jacket? Ditto. But they've become a near-constant substitute for regular pants for many women going about their daily lives, which has resulted in much debate. Urban Outfitters actually put a shirt for sale that it called "vintage" and which recalled a massacre at Kent State in 1970. Zara quickly yanked this children's shirt off its shelves after complaints that the stripes and six-pronged star made it look like uniforms worn by inmates in Nazi Germany. And now it's Zara again! The company eventually pulled this handbag because, you know, it had swastikas embroidered on it in 2007. Urban Outfitters is under fire (what else is knew) for an article of clothing, or at least this racy advertisement flauting a model's thigh gap. Advertisement A message from our sponsor. Twitter went nuts after Zara debuted this "White Is the New Black," T-shirt, which was meant to be a play on the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black. It didn't go over so well. Target drew ire for listing the color of a dress online as "Manatee gray" in its plus-sizes. It referrs to the exact same color as "dark heather gray" in all its other sizes. Urban Outfitters also drew anger customers for its shirt that came in an "Obama/Black" color option. Supposedly this was a typo and the option was meant to read "Obama Blue," in reference to the democrat party. Patrons were outraged by this Urban Outfitters shirt. It had the words "depression" written all over it, making many think that it was demeaning to those who suffer from mental illness. Advertisement A message from our sponsor. The Anti-Defamation League came down on Urban Outfitters in 2012 for this six-pronged star patch on the yellow shirt's left breast pocket. Also in 2012, the Navajo Nation actually sued Urban Outfitters for its use of the trademarked word "Navajo" on products such as their "hipster panty. For real. Phew. Abercrombie no longer makes this shirt. It asks the rude question: "Do I make you look fat?" Walmart and Amazon are under fire for these shirts. They are designed with the Kurt Cobain suicide note, which some folks see as a fashion statement somehow. Is it blue and black? White and gold? The Internet could not answer this question. On the heels of "Yeezus," the rapper announced this week that his next set of songs will comprise "So Help Me God," including along with that reveal an image on Twitter of the upcoming cover art.
