| Yaya DaCosta as Whitney Houston: First Look! - The <b>Hollywood</b> <b>...</b> Posted: 11 Jul 2014 08:03 AM PDT Last month, Yaya DaCosta was cast as Whitney Houston in a forthcoming made-for-TV movie about the late singer's tragic life. Today, we have our first glimpse of DaCosta in character, and the 31-year-old actress bears an almost uncanny to a young Whitney:  DaCosta is mimicking the cover of Houston's 1987 album "Whitney" and if this sort of attention to detail is maintained throughout the film, actress Angela Bassett's directorial debut should provide us with a spot-on depiction of Houston's troubled life and times. For her part, DaCosta got her start as a contestant on America's Next Top Model and went on to land recurring roles on series such as All My Children, Ugly Betty, and House. Most recently, she appeared on the big screen in Lee Daniels' The Butler. She'll be joined in the Houston biopic by Arlen Escarpeta as Bobby Brown and and Yolanda Ross as Houston's longtime friend Robyn Crawford. The film - titled simply, Whitney Houston - will focus on the tumultuous partnership between Houston and Brown and the height of Whitney's success as a singer in the late '80s and early '90s. No release date has been announced yet, but the movie is expected to debut on Lifetime in early 2015.  |
| David Letterman to Joan Rivers: See Ya! - The <b>Hollywood Gossip</b> Posted: 09 Jul 2014 10:31 AM PDT David Letterman made like Joan Rivers last night. No, he didn't refer to Barack Obama as gay and Michelle Obama as transgender. But The Late Show host did get up in the middle of an interview with Joan Rivers, just a couple of days after Rivers did the same thing about getting annoyed during a chat with CNN. Letterman was merely kidding, however, while Rivers went along with it and even tossed a few questions at herself. Pretty funny stuff. Watch now:  David Letterman Disses Joan Rivers! | Johnny Manziel Caught Using Cocaine in Vegas Nightclub? - The <b>...</b> Posted: 08 Jul 2014 12:25 PM PDT Johnny Manziel has yet to take a snap for the Cleveland Browns, but the rookie prospect already has a career's worth of scandals behind him. Just last week, Manziel was partying with Justin Bieber and the festivities were so rowdy that cops were called to the scene on two separate occasions. Prior to that, of course, Manziel was investigated for selling autographs to fans, a major violation of NCAA rules. Now, it seems the so-called Johnny Football may have been caught preparing to snort cocaine in a Las Vegas nightclub.  The above photo was taken by an anonymous clubgoer over the weekend and posted to Twitter yesterday. While it certainly doesn't provide any conclusive evidence of drug use, Manziel can clearly be seen rolling s $20 bill into a straw-like tube, a common practice amongst cocaine users in need of homemade paraphernalia. Manziel has yet to respond to the substance abuse allegations, or even confirm or deny that he is the man in the photo, but several media outlets have verified that Manziel was in Vegas this past weekend. Many fans have called for the NFL to drug test Manziel immediately, but the league has yet to comment on the allegations against the Browns' much-hyped draft pick. |

Needless to say, the royal family looks picture perfect. Reporting on how the boy upended Prince William's and Kate's lives, Nicholl gives a behind-the-scenes look at George's first year. Excerpts below ...  On George's appetite: While George behaved well in his first few public appearances, he often cried loudly and frequently, and did not sleep through the night. The baby prince, still breastfeeding, was permanently hungry ... only in the new year, when Kate introduced solids, did George finally sleep through the night. On their new nanny: Spanish-born Maria Teresa Turrion Borallo spent a week bonding with George at Kate's family home in March [with] the Middleton grandparents. Meanwhile, Will and Kate jetted off to the Maldives for a second honeymoon. They caught flak for leaving him behind, but on another occasion, did not ... On the visit to New Zealand and Australia: William privately admitted to being nervous about the long flight, tropical climate, and intense media interest. The Queen gave the family her blessing to fly together, even though this was seen as a breach of protocol because direct heirs do not usually travel together. They take George to playdates at the homes of friends. As for speculation about when George will have a sibling, Nicholl reports that there are rumors among the couple's friends that they plan to try this summer. On the latest Kate Middleton photo scandal: There was a huge demand for pictures of George, who had not been seen aside from the official christening pictures. In December, photos of Kate strolling through a park, dressed down in a baseball cap and sneakers pushing the pram, were published overseas. After that episode, Kate Middleton decided to walk George exclusively on the grounds of Kensington Palace, where the duo could not be photographed. | Germany DESTROYS Brazil in World Cup, Home Fans React in Horror Posted: 08 Jul 2014 03:02 PM PDT Well, that didn't go as planned for the home team. Brazil was positively destroyed by Germany in the World Cup today, falling 7-1 in the semifinals after the Germans scored a record-tying five goals in the first half alone. Four of their scores came in a seven-minute span. Thomas Muller opened the onslaught with a goal off a corner kick in the 10th minute, as Miroslav Klose broke the all-time World Cup scoring record 12 minutes later. From there, the rout was on... and Brazil fans reacted accordingly:
Germany will face Netherlands or Argentina in the finals and try to become the first European side to lift the World Cup on South American soil. Andre Schurrle, from Germany, is pumped to be on this hottest players list! |
| Lana Del Rey and Francesco Carrozzini: Dating! - The <b>Hollywood</b> <b>...</b> Posted: 08 Jul 2014 02:07 PM PDT For those of you struggling to keep up with Lana Del Rey's love life, allow us to be of some assistance: Lana and Barrie-James O'Neill got engaged in January of 2014. Then, last month, Lana and Barrie-James broke up, possibly because she realized he has a hyphenated first name, and that's awful. Shortly thereafter Barrie-James claimed he and Lana are still together, so B-J, if you're reading this, we'd like to encourage you to look away now, because Lana has found another uniquely named European dude to be depressed and smoke cigarettes with.  Yes, Lana's been spotted cavorting around Italy with Vogue photographer Francesco Carrozzini. Neither party has confirmed that they're in a relationship, but you don't take a trip to Italy with a photographer named Francesco and keep it platonic. While the getaway to Portofino marks the first time Lana and Francesco have been spotted canoodling in public, there are reports that the two have ben dating since early June and spent much of last month shacking up together at the Chateau Marmont. So, sorry, Barrie-James, but it looks like you'll have to find a different skeletal chanteuse to sidle up to. We hear Paris Hilton is singing again these days. Lana all glammed-up for a red carpet appearance. As always, she looks flawless. |
